City of Calgary Retirees Fellowship

The deadline to respond is NOON MONDAY MARCH 2nd

Please reply to this email with either a “Yes” or “No” whether you are going to attend the luncheon or not and include your first and last name.

If you are UNABLE TO ATTEND THE LUNCHEON after saying you will be attending, please phone Alanna Hargan at (403)669-3793 no later than the morning of the luncheon to avoid payment.

11:45 coffee (regular & decaf) and tea available

12:00 noon Buffet lunch served

Butternut Squash Bisque

2 Salads (Chef’s choice)

Tuscan Style Penne Pasta, Tomatoes, Basil, Olive Oil

Garlic and Herb Roasted Chicken

Roasted Potatoes

Seasonal Vegetables

Assorted Desserts (2 Pieces per Person)

Freshly Brewed Coffee, Regular & Decaf, Selection of Teas

 

Member Lunch       $35.00

Guest lunch             $35.00

Membership cost   $10.00 for half the year (January 1 to August 31)

If you have not purchased or renewed your membership for the 2025/2026 membership year, our membership cost is just $10.00 for half the year (our membership year runs from September 1 to August 31).  Memberships are available at the check-in table at our luncheons.  Please bring cash or a cheque ($35.00 lunch plus $10.00 membership = $45.00)

Guest speaker  We are pleased to once again welcome the City’s Recreation Department to our luncheon where they will lead us in a ‘Sit and Be Fit’ gentle fitness program.  Please plan on wearing comfy clothes so you can enjoy and participate in this fun and energizing activity.

Note: The Level 1 program is a slow-paced program focused on functional movements, posture, alignment, mobility, stability and stretching. Primarily a seated class.

Attached is a copy of our bylaws with the PROPOSED CHANGES. 

Please review these changes as they will be voted on at our APRIL AGM.

Please consider letting your name stand for a position on the Board.  Serving is both rewarding and a wonderful way to connect with fellow members of our organization. The time commitment for each role is minimal.  

We will be doing two draws for a FREE LUNCH after the elections!!

We will have FREE BINGO after the elections with PRIZES!!!

 

CUPE 38 BANQUET:  SATURDAY APRIL 18: 

CUPE Local 38 holds an annual banquet to recognize members who have retired during the past year.  CUPE 38 has set aside some tickets for our Retirees members to attend this year’s banquet.

If you are interested, the cost is $35.00 per person.  The banquet location has changed.  It is being held at the Palliser Hotel this year.

    Cost: $20.00/person lunch buffet

Time: 12:00 start time

APRIL:  Wednesday April 22

The COC RETIREES FELLOWSHIP is sponsoring a fun 5-Pin BOWLING event

Where:    SPLITSVILLE at Glamorgan Shopping Centre

3919 Richmond Rd SW, front entrance downstairs

When:           APRIL 22 @ 1pm

Cost:   $20.00 per person (payment required at sign up)

Bowl up to 2 hours (2 games) followed by some extra fun if you so choose in the arcade.

Wear your own clean shoes.

The CoC Retirees Fellowship will also offer free nachos and a coffee, tea or soft drink.  You can purchase additional food and spirits or non-alcoholic drinks.
