Member Lunch       $35.00

Guest lunch             $35.00

Membership cost   $10.00 for half the year (January 1 to August 31)

If you have not purchased or renewed your membership for the 2025/2026 membership year, our membership cost is just $10.00 for half the year (our membership year runs from September 1 to August 31).  Memberships are available at the check-in table at our luncheons.  Please bring cash or a cheque ($35.00 lunch plus $10.00 membership = $45.00)

Guest speaker  We are pleased to once again welcome the City’s Recreation Department to our luncheon where they will lead us in a ‘Sit and Be Fit’ gentle fitness program.  Please plan on wearing comfy clothes so you can enjoy and participate in this fun and energizing activity.

Note: The Level 1 program is a slow-paced program focused on functional movements, posture, alignment, mobility, stability and stretching. Primarily a seated class.

**April luncheon:  Annual General meeting and elections:

Attached is a copy of our bylaws with the PROPOSED CHANGES. 

Please review these changes as they will be voted on at our APRIL AGM.

Please consider letting your name stand for a position on the Board.  Serving is both rewarding and a wonderful way to connect with fellow members of our organization. The time commitment for each role is minimal.  

We will be doing two draws for a FREE LUNCH after the elections!!

We will have FREE BINGO after the elections with PRIZES!!!

 

CUPE 38 BANQUET:  SATURDAY APRIL 18: 

CUPE Local 38 holds an annual banquet to recognize members who have retired during the past year.  CUPE 38 has set aside some tickets for our Retirees members to attend this year’s banquet.

If you are interested, the cost is $35.00 per person.  The banquet location has changed.  It is being held at the Palliser Hotel this year.

APRIL:  Wednesday April 22

The COC RETIREES FELLOWSHIP is sponsoring a fun 5-Pin BOWLING event

Where:    SPLITSVILLE at Glamorgan Shopping Centre

3919 Richmond Rd SW, front entrance downstairs

When:           APRIL 22 @ 1pm

Cost:   $20.00 per person (payment required at sign up)

Bowl up to 2 hours (2 games) followed by some extra fun if you so choose in the arcade.

Wear your own clean shoes.

The CoC Retirees Fellowship will also offer free nachos and a coffee, tea or soft drink.  You can purchase additional food and spirits or non-alcoholic drinks.

Guest speakers      Christine Bednarek and Elizabeth Graves –  these guest speakers are certified Older Adult fitness instructors with additional balance and falls prevention training.  They will lead us in a discussion about the fall prevention program called “Move N Mingle Fall Risk Management”.  This program focuses on helping individuals remain independent and reducing the risk of falling.    Christine brings many years of experience working in the fitness industry, and a passion for helping seniors remain independent, through active aging.  And Liz brings energy, expertise, and a deep commitment to empowering seniors to live their best lives.

Join us for a festive luncheon and celebrate the holiday season in style!  Wear your favourite Christmas sweater or outfit, enjoy a delicious holiday meal, and spend a fun-filled afternoon with live music and fellow City of Calgary retirees.  We look forward to celebrating with you.
